cleaning house

Josh went to Silver Dollar City yesterday with Karl's mom, dad and cousins, so Karl and I used that time to get the Christmas things put away and I cleaned house. I still want to clean some more things like the catch all areas, Karl's desk and the kitchen bar are catch all areas in our house. I need to get those cleaned up. I started washing the curtains last night. I have the curtains in our room left and I will be done. Karl is sleeping, so when he wakes up I will get started. I want to get this stuff done before I go back to work.
I made the dogs more cookies last night, Darylynn, freezing the dough was fine, I let it thaw and then used my cookie cutters and baked. It turned out good. The dogs were excited.
The weather here is wonderful, near 60 and they are saying Saturday it will be 65. I am excited. The temperature is dropping on Sunday, but only to the 40's, so no big deal.
I got my teacher certification yesterday. The university said it would take 6-8 weeks, but I have it, so I got that stuff sent to the school I work for so they can update my file. Glad thhat is taken care of.
We do not have any special plans for New Year's Eve. We have a party on New Year's day though with Karl's family. They do that every year, it is their Christmas get together. That is what is going on here. I am going to try and visit blogs again. Have a very Happy New Year!!

  1. Happy New Year Lori :)
    I will take all my Christmas stuff down on Monday the big snag is the tree which goes into my sons attic for storage, they are out of town so I will just take it apart and wait for Justin to come over with the box to pack it up when they get back. I am ready to take the stuff all down it begins to look like clutter to me. Your NYE plans sound good to me and enjoy your NYD party. Holiday Hugs, Dru

    P.S. Your story about the dog cookies has my mouth watering lol I am sure they enjoyed them!

  2. It seems like every area is a catch all in my house! I get something cleaned up and it's not even a day before it's a mess again!

    I seriously am going to have to try the dog cookie recipe. All your talking about them makes me think my dogs would love them. :)

    I will probably take our tree down on Sunday afternoon, unless I get ambitious sooner. Happy New Year to you!

  3. Hi Lori! I was pretty sure the frozen dough would be fine... glad ir was. We freeze a lot of things that are already baked... like breads, cookies, etc... and they taste just like fresh once they sit out a few minutes. Glad you got your certificate and all my best to you and your family in 2012! (((Hugz)))

  4. Happy New Year Lori;

    I hope this coming year brings all the blessings and happiness you and your family deserves. God bless. Hugs

  5. Hope you enjoyed your Christmas vacation and had a good New Year. :)

    I am having issues with my domain and my server, so right now I am blogging on my old back-up blog:

    Will let you know when my blog is back up and running!

  6. Happy New Year, Lori! I still haven't starting taking Christmas down at my house. Usually, I leave my tree up until early February, but this year I think it will come down in about a week. It just doesn't feel like winter with all the nice weather we've been having. Have a great weekend, sweetie!

  7. Happy new year, Lori. Hope you're doing well. Our holiday season was peaceful and simple, just the way I like it. Have a wonderful week. Lotsa hugs
