Tuesday 4 Meme-Marriage

                    Marriage...

 he was "the one".

3. How did he propose?  He just asked me  if I would marry

him.  In his defense, he was so nervous.  It was not a production.

4. Do you have any favorite stories from your marriage or about

Saturday 9- Do You Want to Dance?

Do You Want to Dance?

Saturday 9: Do You Want to Dance? (1972)

Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.

This week, we're inspired by The Divine Miss M's plea for a definitive answer. Here are nine random "yes or no" questions. Naturally you're welcome to elaborate, but if you want to zip through with a Y or an N, that's fine, too.

1) Do you check your cellphone first thing in the morning?  No, I take a shower first and later I check my cell phone.

2) Are there dirty dishes in your sink right now?  No

3) Have you laughed yet today?  Oh definitely.  The kids at the school always make me laugh.

4) Have you written a check in the last week?   I think the last time I wrote a check was for my mom...She still writes checks.  We never do.  I was helping her get one filled out fast.

5) If you met someone who shared all your strengths and weaknesses, would you like him/her?  I think so.  yes.

6) Is a bride ever too old to have a big wedding?  no, I think she should have whatever she wants.

7) Do you put potato chips in your sandwich to make it crunchy?  I did when I was a little kid.  I eat chips with sandwiches still but not on the actual sandwich.

8) Have you ever taken a nude photo of someone (not a baby)?  no

9) On Monday, will you be playing Bud and Mimi's cool new meme, Monday Madness? (Our last shameless plug, I promise.)  of course!

Tuesday 4 Meme- Your Home Routine

Your Home Routine

Welcome to Tuesday 4 where we offer 4 questions of topics for you to

discuss each week. Begun by Toni Taddeo, we keep it in her honor.

This week's topic is your home routines.

1. What laundry products do you like to use or find best for you?

I use Tide detergent, Downy fabric softener and Bounce dryer sheets. I also
like the Purex Crystals. I am out of crystals right now though.

2.Dryer, line or combination of both? Both. I do not dry my clothes...mostly
because I do not want them to shrink.

3. Do you have wood floors or carpeting and which is best? We have both. I
like to have both. My kitchen floors are hardwood, bathrooms are ceramic
tile...I think everything else is carpet.

4. Housekeeping professionals give the following guidelines. Which do you follow?

Do you have better ideas? I do follow some of those guidelines. I clean up
clutter first. I always sweep before mopping, I also use a toothbrush. I
think what helps me the most is making a list of everything I want to get
done. Then I cross it off my list as I complete it. It seems like I do the
smaller projects first because I can feel like I am getting more accomplished.

Monday Madness- Nobody Loves You When You're Down & Out

Welcome to the of Monday Madness I'm finally back. Judd here!  I was the first host of Sunday Stealing. I also was the host of The Rising Blogger. Our authors each week are Bud from WTIT: The Blog & Mimi Lenox of Mimi Writes. Thanks for stopping by! We hope you enjoy our questions.

Monday Madness: The Nobody Loves You When You're Down & Out Questions:

1. When did you last feel down and out?
Friday.  Josh was having a really bad time with his depression.

2. What do you do to feel sexy?  Take a shower and put on something nice.  I actually take the time to put on make-up too.  I also put on some nice lotion.  Ok, these are things I do everyday...except the lotion and trying to smell nice.  I guess that might be the only thing different I might do.

3. If you could be somewhere else, where would you be and why?   I would love to move from the town we live in.  It is toxic for Josh here.  I think this town just holds bad memories for him.  I would rather do that than take a vacation.

4. What have you always wanted to do?  Go on more vacations and move Josh out of this town.

5.  What do you appreciate the most about your life at this time?  I appreciate that we have gone to a 4 day school week this year and I will be off on Monday.  I have to take Josh to the dentist today though.

6. If you could be someone else, who would you be and why?  I do not wish to be anyone else.

7. Have you ever made a fool of yourself? If yes, spill.  Oh my goodness yes!  I had my first job at the local high school here and I was walking and waving at a student.  I ran right into a pole and hit my head.  It was hilarious.   That is not the only time I have done something stupid like that.  I was playing tennis once in college and I was chasing after the tennis ball and I flipped over a wire and fell on my face.  I wasn't hurt...again, it was funny.  My roommate that was playing me was so worried until I started laughing.  I had a nice bruise on my leg though.

8. What have you always wanted to do but haven't?  I would love to travel abroad.

9. What do you think about the talk about traveling to Mars?  I don't think about it.  I just listen when they actually do something.  I am very interested in space, but I am not worried if they go or not.

10.  If you could bring back someone who has passed, who would it be?  My dad.  This was when I graduated college.  He was probably my age now about 50.. and I was Josh's age...about 22.  He passed away 3 years ago.

Thanks for playing! We will see you see you next Monday (we hope!)- definitely!  Please don't stop the meme.

Saturday 9- Frankie and Johnny

Saturday 9: Frankie and Johnny (1966)

Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.

1) When this record was initially released in 1966, it never cracked the Top 20. Critics were harsh, saying that Elvis had not kept up the times. How about you? Do you consider yourself up-to-date on today's music?  Not really.  I was until about 3-4 years ago, but the music is just not appealing to me anymore.  I do like Billie Eilish and the Jonas Brothers, but overall I find myself turning the the 80's stations the most these days.

2) The song is about a woman named Frankie and Johnny, the man who does her wrong. Who is the most recent person to do you wrong? (It doesn't have to be in romance; it could be the person who cut in front of you in line at the supermarket.)  I really don't know.  I try not to dwell on stuff like that.

3) Elvis sings that Johnny cheated with "a chick named Nellie Bly." The real Nellie was an estimable woman, a pioneering 19th century journalist. Can you think of another song that mentions a real person?  I mention this song a lot, but it because I love baseball.  It mentions
"Say Hey" Willie (Willie Mays), tell the Cobb (Ty Cobb), and Joe DiMaggio

4) This song was recorded for a movie by the same name. Elvis played a riverboat gambler. When did you last play a game of chance?  Every time I drive.  If you mean a real game, I am not sure.

5) Actor Harry Morgan had a supporting role in the movie. He's remembered as Officer Gannon on Dragnet and Col. Potter on M*A*S*H. Gannon was a good cop but could be particular about his food and surroundings. As a career soldier, Potter didn't mind roughing it every now and again. Which character are you more like: fussy Gannon or outdoorsy Potter?  Fussy Gannon.  I am very particular about my food.

6) Elvis' leading lady was Donna Douglas. She filmed her part during her summer hiatus from TV's The Beverly Hillbillies. Have you ever had a summer job?  When I was in high school I had summer jobs.  I worked at McDonald's and grocery stores.

7) Though not remembered as an actor, Elvis was a bona fide movie star. In 1966, he was listed (with Paul Newman, Sean Connery, John Wayne and Richard Burton) as one of the world's biggest box office draws. Who starred in the last movie you watched?  Bette Davis...Josh (my son) was showing me the movie The Old Maid last weekend.

8) In 1966, Lauren Bacall appeared on the cover of Time with the headline: "The Pleasures and Perils of Middle Age." She was 41 years old and starring in a hit Broadway play. In the article, she explained that in middle age, she had come to understand that "character and a sense of humor are the two things that will carry you through." Tell us about something you understand better or appreciate more today than you did when you were young.  When I was young it was hard for me to just let things go and move on.  I would get my feelings hurt.  I do not let small things like that bother me now.  It isn't worth my time being upset over nothing.  It was a hard lesson though.

9) Random question: Have you checked out Bud and
Mimi's cool new meme, Monday MadnessSure have!  See you there!

Tuesday 4 Meme- Television

Television

1.Fall is usually the time that new series appear on TV. If you could make a show

that you would really enjoy what kind and what subject would you like to see?

I don't know.  I usually watch the previews for the new shows to decide if I think I will

enjoy them.  I haven't seen any previews for this season, I better get on it.  I just watch

 whatever I think looks good.

2.  You have a rare opportunity this fall: you can step into a movie, TV program
or book and live out a week there, which would it be and why?  I am going to go with a book.
I am not sure which one it would be, but books are always so much better than movies or
tv shows could ever think about being.

3.Are you decorating outside for autumn? What are you doing? Is it HGTV worthy?
I have not really started decorating much outside yet.  The inside is decorated because
it is easier to decorate.  I really need to do that though and no it will not be HGTV worthy.

4.   What's on TV this week you really are going to enjoy?  I am watching the

St. Louis Cardinals right now.  I don't know of anything else that I

will enjoy.  Are the new shows starting this week?  I suppose if they are
there might be something I will enjoy.

Monday Madness- The Hodgepodge Meme

The Hodgepodge Meme

Welcome to the first edition of Monday Madness! I'm finally back. Judd here!  I was the first host of Sunday Stealing. I also was the host of The Rising Blogger. Our authors each week are Bud from WTIT: The Blog & Mimi Lenox of Mimi Writes. Our promise is to never post yes or no questions. We won't ask what you're wearing or ask what is the last song you heard. Thanks for stopping by! We hope you enjoy our first set of questions.

1. You are at a party in a very bad mood. There is an obnoxious guest with a camera snapping pictures of everyone in sight. Do you allow the photographs or ask them to stop?
If I was in a very bad mood, I would probably leave the party.  I can be moody like that at times.

2.Wedding, Cufflinks, Black And White, Bow Tie, Tuxedo You are on your way to a formal affair and running late. You are the guest speaker at this event and everyone is waiting for you. A police officer pulls you over for speeding. Do you make up a story or tell him where you are going and try to talk your way out of the citation? Or do you make up a wild excuse? If so, tell us your tall taleOk, so for those of you who do not know me very well, I do not do well at lying.  I would just tell the truth.  I would not be running late though and I would never agree to be the guest speaker.  I am no fun.

3. When you drive down memory lane for the last two years of your life and look in the rear-view mirror, do you see a happy journey or a bumpy ride?  Happy journey for sure!  I am just that person that tries to make the best out of whatever is thrown at me.  I do get stressed out at times, but I see these as learning opportunities.

4.  Who makes you laugh when no one else can?  My son when he feels well enough to come out of his room. Today was a good day and I was able to spend the day visiting with him and laugh together, we even got him out of the house for a while. He is so funny.

5. What are your superpowers?  uhhhh.  Maybe being an encourager or being positive.  The teachers at school tell me how patient I am with the kids.

6. What is the last thing you memorized?  Probably my schedule at work.

7. Tell us something you once took that you wish you could give back?  I am drawing a blank.

8. The iPhone just gave birth to the next generation of phones. What would you name them?

The iPhone AI?  AI not being Artificial intelligence, but all inclusive.

9.  How much mystery should be in a relationship? Is it a good thing or not?  I think it depends on the person and the relationship.  I am typically all about being honest, but I do not share everything about my past with my husband.

10. What is your weekend blogging routine?  I typically have my blog posts done a day or two ahead and set to post.  So, I usually fill out Saturday 9 on Thursday night.  I visit blogs on Saturday morning.  Then in the afternoon when Sunday Stealing posts, I fill that out and get it ready to post.  I visit those blogs on Sunday after church.  Now I am filling out Monday Madness on Sunday night and will get it ready to post before bed.  I work tomorrow, so I will be by to visit as soon as I get home!  Have a great day!

Thanks for the fun questions!

Sunday Stealing- From Bankerchick

From Bankerchick

1. Tell us about any lawn or garden plans you have for this month.
I am starting to switch from summer to Fall, so mums will be out in a couple of weeks and
I need to get my fall decorations in my yard.  The inside has already been changed to fall.

2. "Many things grow in the garden that were never sown there."~Thomas Fuller
What does this quote mean to you?  It makes me think of the Bloom Where You are planted
expression. It is like in life you are planted in a place you can make the best of it or you can find
the worst of it.  In a garden, you will plant seeds and you will still have weeds....so you get rid of
weeds and keep what you plant.  It is what you are focused on positive or negative.

3. What's the first thing that comes to mind when you think about God?
Creation and Jesus and Salvation...going to heaven.

4. If we were chatting in person, how would I know if you were nervous.
When I am nervous I laugh a lot and I try to talk too much.

5. Do you like the color yellow? Would I find any in your home or wardrobe?
I love the color yellow, but I do not wear it much because it makes me look washed out.

6. Daffodils, tulips, roses, sunflowers, day lily, black-eyed Susan...
which yellow bloom on this list is your favorite?  I love them all.

7. Flip flops or bare feet?   bare feet, but I hate being
bare footed.   I do not like the piece that goes between your toes on flip flops worse,
I prefer to wear socks and tennis shoes.

8. Fish out of water, big fish in a small pond, living in a fishbowl, packed in like sardines,
this is a fine kettle of fish, plenty of fish in the sea, fish or cut bait...which fishy phrase most recently
applies to some area of your life?  I am going to go with fish out of water since I am in a different
building this year doing a totally different job.

9. Have you ever been fishing? Did you catch a fish? If so did you keep it or throw it back?
If you haven't been fishing is that something you'd like to try?  My dad used to take me fishing
when I was little.  I did catch a fish, but we threw it back.

10. What's something you're always fishing for in your purse, wallet, desk, or kitchen junk drawer?
I could name a list of things I am always fishing for, but I will go with chap stick.

11. Your favorite fish tale or movie?  Finding Nemo

12. Are you sunrise, daylight, twilight or night? Explain why you chose your answer.
Night.  I love to be up at night when it is quiet.  I can do what I want to do and not be in
any hurry.  It is peaceful.

13. What's the oldest piece of clothing you own and still wear?  Probably my winter coat.  Karl
bought it for me when we were first married.

14. What's been the best and worst part of your summer so far?  best part was spending
time with Josh and reading.  Worst was it coming to an end and going back to work.

15. Are you a Jimmy Buffet fan? If so, what's your favorite JB tune.  I do not think I am really a fan,
my brother-in-law is a huge fan.  I like Margaritaville.

Saturday 9- So Emotional

So Emotional

Saturday 9: So Emotional (1987)

Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.

1) Whitney sings that she keeps her lover's photo beside her bed. What's on your bedside table?  My alarm, the tv remote and some random other things for my cuticles.  Which look terrible right now because my hands are so dry because of so much handwashing and sanitizer.

2) She's getting frustrated, waiting for the phone to ring. If your phone were to ring right now, who would you expect to be on the other end?  Maybe my mom.  I hate talking on the phone.  I don't mind talking to my mom though.

3) The video was filmed at Stabler Arena in Bethlehem, PA. It seats 6,200. As the nation reopens from Covid19, would you feel comfortable sitting knee-to-knee with a stranger in an arena like this?   no, not really.  I am not totally comfortable at school.

4) This week's featured artist, Whitney Houston, appeared on the daytime drama As The World Turns. She played herself, performing with Jermaine Jackson at the Miss Cinderella contest in the fictional town of Oakdale. Have you ever been hooked on a soap opera?  Yes, and As The World Turns was the one I was hooked on.  I will occasionally watch Young and the Restless or Bold and the Beautiful now, but I never missed ATWT when I was grown and it was still on.  My Grandma got me hooked on it.  She listened to it on the radio.  I do not remember this storyline, but I was probably in high school during that.

5) Whitney had a sweet tooth, and her favorite breakfast cereal was Fruity Pebbles. Do you often eat cereal for lunch or dinner?  no, I sometimes have it for a snack though.

6) At Whitney's wedding to Bobby Brown, her bridesmaids all wore lavender dresses and the groomsmen had custom made alligator shoes. Have you ever "stood up" for a friend or relative? If so, do you remember what you wore?  I have been in two weddings, I wore long dresses in both, one was super tight and form fitting and my ribs hurt afterwards.  I threw that dress away.  The other dress had an empire waist and was a wine color.  It was beautiful.  I think the one I threw away was also wine colored.

7) In 1987, the year this song was popular, Cher won the Oscar for Moonstruck. Her most famous line was, "Snap out of it!" When you think of Cher, do you first think of her movies, her TV show, or her music?  music, but I love Cher...my son loves her even more.

8) Michael Douglas won the Oscar that year for Wall Street. His most famous line was, "Greed is good." His character goes on to say that, "Greed in all its forms -- greed for life, for money, for love, for knowledge -- has marked the upward surge of all mankind." Do you agree?  I think if you are saying in ALL forms, I have to say no, but I do think it can be good at times in advancing technology and in business.  I also think it can be very bad.

9) Random question: When you woke up this morning, were you ready to get out of bed? Or do you wish you could have snoozed for a bit longer?  I wanted to sleep longer.  I am not a morning person.
