windows, shopping and teeth

This week has been a little quieter than my other weeks, but that is ok.  I haven't done any deep cleaning this week because we are planning to have a bee keeper come and remove a bee hive from our old shed, then Karl will tear that down and we are going to get a dumpster out here and we can throw away stuff then.  We still have fence stuff in our yard and I want to clean my closet.
Karl worked over the weekend on the front yard fence.  It is more of a black steel fence, then the rest is privacy fence.  It is done now and it looks nice...except we need to clean up our yard from him building it.  We will get there.
Tuesday we had Pella windows come out and we are going to get a new living room picture window.  It is the only window that is not double paned in our house.  We have replaced them all.  We have an old house.  I am hoping it will help in the winter keeping our house warm.  In the summer too, but I notice it the most in the winter.
Wednesday was the 1 year Anniversary of my dad passing away, so Josh and I took my mom shopping.  We went to DSW shoe store, Petco, Home Goods, Ulta, TJ Maxx, Dillards, Cato and we ate at Chick-fil-a.  I got the dogs some treats at Petco and I got two new t-shirts at Cato.  They are super soft t-shirts.
Thursday I took Josh to the dentist to start with his cavity fillings.  This is 1 of 3 appointments.  He had 6 cavities.  He is going to fall off our dental insurance in August, so we want to get the dental stuff taken care of.
I have also been writing in a pen and paper journal this week.  I wanted to journal about last year and about our doctor appointments and how we are feeling.  I am caught up, so I am happy to have all of that written down.
Josh has good and bad days with his depression and anxiety.  He seemed at first to be doing so good with his new medicine, but the past two days, he has been down.  My medicine still seems to give me energy on most days...not all, I still have days where I am really tired, but I am doing better.  I also think my hair is not falling out as much.  That is good!  That is also a side effect of hypothyroidism.  There are so many symptoms and when I looked up symptoms of hypothyroidism, I have almost all of them.  I am hoping for improvement. It says to give it several weeks to start working.  I go back to the doctor next week.
I do not have anything planned until Monday, so I am blogging now.  Have a beautiful weekend!

Joshua

This week started with me cleaning my kitchen drawers and bathroom closet.  I was able to throw some towels away and wash all of them, then organize them.  We have towels we seem to use over and over, yet we have all of these others to use also, so I put them where we could find them.  I have been using more things already, so that is good.  I was trying to do a project that I would not need to throw away a lot of trash.
Wednesday Josh and I went to the dentist and we have some cavities, so we will be getting those fixed soon.
Then when we got home from the dentist I called a surgeon to make an appointment to have a consultation on having Josh's wisdom teeth out.  We actually had that today and he gets them out on July 6th.
I also made an appointment on Wednesday for Josh to see a regular doctor.  They got him in the next day which was yesterday.  I have been worried that he is struggling with depression and anxiety.  That is what he was diagnosed with.  It was Moderate severe depression and Generalized Anxiety Disorder.  He is taking some medicine and today...second day on his medicine he already seems so much better.  I wasn't expecting results so fast.  He does have good days with his depression though, so I will see how the weekend goes and will keep you posted!  I am so relieved to have him on some medicine and I hope it will help him.  Josh is actually out with his Aunt and Uncle having dinner right now and he usually does not like to leave the house.  That is a good sign!  Keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
My medicine came for my thyroid.  I am on day 4 and I do seem to have a little more energy so far, but some of the other stuff I think will take some more time.  I have heard thyroid medicine can take weeks to work, so that is ok.  God wants me to be patient I guess.
I have made some plans with some friends at work, we are having a girls night out again in July.  I will post more about that later.  I need to have a little fun this summer and not just hang out with doctors...hahahahaha.  The pictures are of Josh taken in the fall with his friend Tara.  It was right before Halloween and they ran around town, but she has moved and she could really make him laugh and smile.  We miss her.  Have a great weekend!

Eye Exam

I decided I was going to go get my eyes checked.  I have been wearing reading glasses, but the past year or so I have been needing to use glasses to see far away too.  It has been a while since I have had them checked, so since I am doctoring this summer, I decided to have my eyes checked too.  Well, you guessed it, I am going to have to wear bi-focals.  I just hope I can get used to them.  They should be here sometime next week.
I did get my kitchen table cleaned off, but that is all this week along with the stuff I posted about Monday...dresser and bar.  I just do a little at a time.  Mostly because I do not have enough room for trash.
This morning I took my mom to get some blood work done and then went to the mall and picked up a few things at Bath and Body Works.  They are having their semi-annual sale.  Then we went and ate at Chick-fil-a.  I am home now, it was a quick morning.  My mom also brought me my Scentsy order, we have found a lady to buy Scentsy from, I just love it!  I cannot wait until fall/winter scents are out.
Next week we go to the dentist.  We always go to the dentist, but it is time to have our teeth cleaned.
I am still waiting on my medicine for my thyroid to be delivered.  I hate having to use a mail prescription service, but our insurance pays really good and will not pay if we use a local pharmacy.  Maybe it will come tomorrow.
I hope you all had a nice week.  It is hot again just in time for the weekend.

Echocardiogram and Chest X-Ray

Today I went to have my Echocardiogram and chest x-ray.  I was there for over an hour.  My doctor did call this afternoon and everything looks normal and I am so happy!  My doctor called last week about the thyroid and ordered some medicine for my thyroid and my vitamin D was low too, so a prescription for that.  Our prescription insurance does not pay unless it comes from this certain pharmacy in St. Louis, so I am still waiting on my medicine to get to me through the mail, but it should be here this week.  I hope it makes me feel less tired.  My blood pressure seems to be running good when I take it at home.  I feel a lot of anxiety when I am at the doctor, but I am not sure if that is why it runs high.
I kind of lost my momentum last week with my cleaning, but I did get my dresser cleaned today.  I have two more drawers to go through, but I decided to stop.  I got the top cleaned and organized.  I also got our bar cleaned off.  The bar is a catch-all at our house.  Those are the kinds of things I am wanting to clean.  My house is always "picked up", but the deep cleaning....that is what I am working on.  I might tackle the kitchen table tomorrow, but that will be all.  It is a catch-all too.
Karl has been working nights, so I have been getting a lot done when he is gone in the evening.  The privacy fence is looking really nice.  He is taking a break from that too.  The next section will be a bear for him, he will have to remove a tree and weeds/bushes and vines from the neighbor's property.  It is not a big area, so that is good.
I am loving my summer break.  I know it is full of doctoring and cleaning, but I feel so good that I am getting it taken care of.  I needed to go to the doctor years ago, but I have been taking care of my parents.  This summer is about me, getting me on track and cleaning house.  I am doing fun things too.
I hope you are all doing really good!
