more on Josh

Josh's teeth problems seem almost endless.  I went to have my hair done last Wednesday cut and color...getting ready for school, and I get a phone call saying the call is for Josh and they are calling to set up services for Josh.  I called them back and it is Burrell, his doctor had referred him to be seen for counseling and Josh did not tell me.  I was thrown off.  I told Josh we needed to go to this place the next day, that is is important and he said...well, my jaw is swollen again.  Sooooo, we had an appointment already with the dentist because there was some flash left between his teeth, and it was driving him crazy.  It is almost like having paper stuck in your teeth and Josh was not able to floss it was so stuck.  Anyway, then we went and got Josh a Missouri ID.  His anxiety is too bad for him to drive right now or even have a job, but he needs an ID, so that is taken care of.  Then later that day we went to see the oral surgeon again.  He said it was not a big deal, that is was just the soft tissue trying to heal and the blood flow was causing the jaw to swell.  He gave him some antibiotics just in case, but hopefully that is the end of it.
I took Josh to Burrell yesterday for his evaluation and he was recommended for counseling and also psychiatric services to oversee his medication.  I am hoping this will help him.  The medicine seems to help some, but Josh says it is only helping a little.  Hopefully counseling and time will heal.  Keep praying for him.
I also decided to go to the chiropractor while I was up there to save me a trip, so that is done.  It helps keep my back strong during the school year.
Tomorrow we are getting our new front window.  I am excited about that.  I think the one we have has been letting out a lot of heat in the winter... it does the same in the summer, but we really feel it in the winter when we pay for propane.
Josh's birthday is this weekend, so we are starting to make plans for that.
This summer has been crazy.  I just hope with everything we have done and will be doing with counseling, that Josh and I both will start feeling better and it will all be worth it.  I think it will for sure.

teeth drama but on the mend...

The very next day after I posted my last post, Josh woke up and his jaw was swollen really bad.  My sister-in-law works where he had his wisdom teeth out and so I texted her and let her know what was going on.  She had us come up that day.  Josh ended up having the start of a dry socket in his right lower jaw and a small infection, so they sedated him again and cleaned out the socket and packed it.  They also ran antibiotics and fluids while they were doing the procedure.  We went back a few days later and they changed the packing and Monday we went and had that packing taken out and he has been cleared.  He looks so much better now and is finally eating.  The swelling is gone.
Josh also had an appointment with his regular doctor last Friday about his depression and anxiety.  The doctor increased his medicine, but did not want him to start the increase until he was done with his anti-biotics.  The anti-biotics for his teeth made him sick, he had to take anti-nausea medicine.  He is done with those now though and he started his increased dose yesterday.  He seemed to do ok with it, but that is just one day.  I will of course continue to watch him close.
Karl finished the yard work!  Our new window is being installed August 1st, so once that is done I will show you what we have done.
I think we are finished with doctors now.  Tomorrow I am going to see Gerry Brooks with some of my co-workers.  He is funny...a Principal of a school, but tells jokes about how things are in education.  He as a facebook page and we all just love him.  We are going out to eat, to see him and then come home.  I am excited to get out and do something fun.
I go next week to have my hair cut and colored.
The weather is getting really hot again.  Tomorrow 100º with 105º heat index.  Stay cool everyone!

getting caught up...last two weeks

It has been a little busy the past couple of weeks, but I did go back for a follow up visit with my doctor and she was happy with the blood pressure readings I had taken at home, so no medicine for that which is good.  I have to go have blood work done in August, but I do not need to see the doctor.  I guess I will have my blood tested every so often now with the hypothyroidism.  I felt better the first couple of weeks and now I feel the same as I did before, so hopefully that changes.  It makes me feel frustrated. I am so tired.
I also went to the gynecologist, I hadn't been in years and yes I know that is scary.  My tests all came back fine or normal, so I can breathe a sigh of relief.  I have a doctor now, so that is good, he said I only have to do that every 5 years.  My mammogram is in August.
Karl has been working on the yard.  We got a dumpster, but the shed he tore down filled it up.  I did not get to clean up some other things I wanted to.
Karl spent the 4th of July tearing down that shed and it is all nice and clean.  We also have some things coming from Lowe's for our yard, another little shed for the mower and lawn things, some yard furniture and a lawn gazebo...not a pretty wooden one, but one with mosquito netting on the sides...just something so we can spend some time in our yard.  The mosquitoes are awful.  I wish we could have a patio.  I will show you all once everything is done.
Last Friday Josh had his wisdom teeth out and I have been taking care of him.  He did really good.  The first day was hard of course, but the swelling is starting to go down now and he is eating better.  We also went to the dentist last week for the last time this summer, I had my cavities fixed and Josh had his last visit to fix cavities.
I think I have you all caught up.  Wednesday our stuff from Lowe's gets dropped off, Thursday I take my mom to the eye doctor and Friday I take Josh back for his follow up visit to the doctor on his depression and anxiety.  He is still doing much better with that on his medicine.  He still has struggles, but much better...he is on the right track.  I will try to visit blogs tomorrow.  I hope you are all doing great!
