Happy New Year 2015!!!

Well, here we are the last day of 2014.  It was not an bad year, but a year of a lot of pain for me with my back and sciatic nerve.  That started in March and did not stop until July after I had spent the month going to the chiropractor.  My back has done really well ever since, so I made a visit to the chiropractor on Monday just to make sure I am in line to start off the year.  I also had my hair highlighted.  It is a little darker than it usually is and the blond highlights are gone for the winter now.
Josh had tutoring on Tuesday, so we went grocery shopping and picked up some things from Wal~Mart we needed.  I am so paranoid to go out right now because of the flu going around, but hopefully those people who are sick are at home resting.
I spent some time today looking for winter themes for my blog.  What you see if what I came up with.  I am really happy with it and it was about time I did something different in here.  I had it really messed up for a while though.  It was worth it.
Josh has gone to spend the night with my mom and dad.  Karl and I will probably just watch movies or football (Bowl) games tonight and maybe catch some of the Rockin' New Year's Eve in New York.  I hope you all have a safe and Happy New Year.  We will be taking down our Christmas tomorrow and cleaning the house.  Have a great day!!

Christmas Shopping

Happy Tuesday Friends!!  I was planning to take my mom Christmas shopping yesterday and I called her to make sure she was up only to find out that their heater was not working.  Thankfully Karl was off and we went down and Karl got it working.  I was afraid they might need a new one.  Then we put up their Christmas Tree.  They have not had it up for several years.  It looks nice.  At that point it was only 10:30AM, so we decided to go Christmas Shopping.  Karl and Josh went home, my mom took her shower and we took off.  She found what she needed at every store we went to.  It was good and it was busy, but not ridiculous.  We ate some late lunch/dinner and then we went grocery shopping.  Then home.  It was a busy day, but I am glad my mom was able to get all of her Christmas shopping done.
Today we are set to go to Sylvan from 4-6PM.  Josh can work on basic math concepts.  He was able to re-do all of his homework and re-take his tests last week, but they have not been graded that I can tell.  I hope the teacher grades them.
They say we may get some snow tomorrow.  I kind of hope it does snow some, just not enough to mess up anyone's plans for visiting with family.  We are not going anywhere until Christmas Day.  We will go to my mom and dad's house and have Christmas with them.
We had Christmas with Karl's family last weekend and they took pictures of Karl's mom and dad along with the Grandkids.  Here is a picture.  They did serious...or crazy old time is what they look like and they did a normal shot of everyone smiling also.  Josh is on the left in the brown on the end.  Such funny pictures.  Have a great week and Merry Christmas if I do not make it back on here.

Pastime Repeats ~ What Is The...

Here is my Tuesday 4 Meme
http://tuesday4meme.blogspot.com/

#29 Pastime Repeats ~ What Is The...

1. One Movie You'd Watch Over & Over Again?  Sweet Home Alabama

2. One Book You'd Read Over & Over Again?  Bible

3. One TV Series You'd Watch Over & Over Again?  FRIENDS

4. One Song You'd Listen To Over & Over Again?  I LOVE music, so there is a lot of music I can listen to over and over, but I really love the song How Great Thou Art.

This week is much like last week with the tutoring.  The math teacher has not re-graded anything though, so I really do not know if we are making any headway or not.  Josh seems to be doing ok in his other classes.  He is not feeling the best, so I will be glad when this week is over so he can just rest some.
Tomorrow we have our class party.  The kids will be getting lots of gifts.  It will be fun.  That will be their last day.  Then Malinda (my para) and I will work in the classroom on Friday and get the Christmas stuff put away and get everything ready or the New Year.  We have a half day and then our vacation begins.  We will have 2 weeks off.
We got our Christmas shopping done and presents wrapped over the weekend, so I am excited about that.  Have a great week!!!

Christmas Diet, What Diet?

Here is my Tuesday 4 Meme a day late.
http://tuesday4meme.blogspot.com/

#28 Christmas Diet, What Diet?

1.   Favorite Christmas Cake: When Josh was little we made a birthday cake for Jesus, but we haven't done that in a while and we do not make many cakes at Christmas at out house.
2.   Favorite Christmas Cookie: Sugar Cookies
3.   Favorite Christmas Pie: Seriously...any kind.  I love pie!!!
4.   Favorite Christmas Candy: Not a big fan of candy, so fudge I guess.

My conference went really well last Friday and it helped me identify some needs in kids I currently have.  I was able to put some ideas to work right away and it has helped them.  Glad I went.
I think we have most of our Christmas gifts, so I need to work on getting those under the tree now.  I did get some Christmas cards sent out to family.
We have tutoring 3 maybe 4 times this week for Josh in a last ditch attempt to help his math grade.  I am not very optimistic, but he is wanting to try, so I say let him go for it.  That is half the battle just wanting to do it.
I am excited to use one of my siggies from Judy, so I will go through the files and pick one.  Click on the tag to give her a visit.  Have a great week!!

Holiday Favorites

It is time for Tuesday 4 Meme!!

http://tuesday4meme.blogspot.com/

#27 Holiday Favorites

1.   Favorite Holiday?:  I kind of like Thanksgiving because you just spend time with family, eat and watch tv.  It is relaxing.  I love Christmas, but it is busy.

2.   Favorite Holiday Character?:  Santa Claus

3.   Favorite Holiday Dish?:
  Pie...any kind

4.   Favorite Holiday Weather?: Ok, do not shoot me, but I am a fan of summer, so I guess 4th of July hot summer nights watching fireworks would be my favorite.

This is a kind of busy week, just basically because of the running around I am having to do...not anything that is a big deal.  I do have a teacher conference on Friday I am looking forward to.  It is a Sensorimotor Integration conference.  Several of us teachers are going.  It will be fun.  Teaching special education, we see this a lot in our kids and we need to be able to address it.  I have swings, rockers, pressure vests, weighted backpacks and blankets....the list goes on and on and all of our teachers have a lot of items in their classrooms, this conference will just give us some more ideas.  Remember Merry-Go-Rounds?  Those were great for sensory input for kids, but they are "not safe" anymore, so the kids do not get the input they need and teachers see the results in the classroom with kids not being able to focus or just kids acting out trying to get that input they need.  Anyway, I am looking forward to it.  Have a great week!
