https://mytuesday4meme.blogspot.com/
Bits And Pieces

1.   What TV gameshow or reality show would you like to be on?  I think Family Feud would be fun!

2.   What is your favorite scent?  So, this is for my house...candles, etc...but I like bakery scents.  Hot apple pie, blueberry muffin and on and on.  I like Scentsy...Mochadoodle, Cozy Chai and Applebutter Frosting.  I do not wear perfume.  My bathroom hand soaps are citrus scents....peach bellini, Winter...which has orange notes, warm vanilla sugar is a good one for me too.

3.   What is one place you've visited, can't forget and want to go back to?  My favorite vacation was Orange Beach, Alabama because we had an ocean front condo, we were able to watch the dolphins every morning playing in the ocean.  We took a dolphin cruise, which was amazing!  We mostly just played at the beach.  It was a fun trip.  The left picture is the dolphins following us on the dolphin tour.  The picture on the right is Josh and I on the dolphin tour. It was in 2009, so 10 years ago.

4.   What is your favorite fruit?  Pineapple.  I Love pineapple!

Saturday 9- Every Time You Go Away

http://samanthasaturday9.blogspot.com/

Saturday 9: Every Time You Go Away (1985)

Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.

1) This song is about separation. Who is the last person you said goodbye (or maybe just "so long") to?  Maybe my coworker...just a see you soon.

2) This week's featured artist, Paul Young, was a gifted athlete during his school days and briefly played professional football (aka soccer). Sam enjoys playing tennis, though her serve doens't give Serena Williams anything to worry about. What's something you enjoy doing, even if you don't excel?  Singing!  I love to sing.  I am not terrible, but not good either.

3) Mr. Young and his wife Stacy were married for 31 years, until her death in 2018. What do you think is the key to a happy marriage?  Being able to have fun together and laugh.

4) Paul Young's performance of this hit song was one of the highlights of the July 1985 Live Aid Concert. This international benefit raised more than $100 million to alleviate hunger in Ethiopia. Tell us about a charity you support.  We support Convoy of Hope which gets food trucks and water to people in crisis from hurricanes, tornadoes...you name it, they go.  We also support St. Jude which help kids with cancer.  We also give to the local homeless shelter.

5) This song was written by Daryl Hall, of Hall and Oates. What's your favorite Hall and Oates song? Kiss on My List, Rich Girl, Maneater.

6) In 1985, when this song was popular, the New Coke was unsuccessfully introduced. What's the last beverage you drank? Sprite

7) In 1985, the New York Stock Exchange had to close because of Hurricane Gloria. Has a hurricane shared your name? (Find a list of recent/upcoming storm names here.)  I see a Laura, but not a Lori.

8) 1985 was the year that the Titanic wreckage was discovered. There have been at least 11 movies and TV shows about the fatal voyage. Have you seen any of them?  I saw Titanic with Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslett in 1997, but that is the only one I can recall.

9) Random question: Would you rather own and run a coffee shop or a shoe store? Why?  I do not drink coffee and I hate shopping for shoes because I have such problems with shoes....I am going to say a shoe store though because maybe if I was actually in a shoe store all of the time I could find some that would make me and my feet happy.

Wednesay Medley- NATIONAL PIGS-IN-A-BLANKET DAY

http://tdorsaneo.blogspot.com/
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

National Pigs in a Blanket Day - April 24

NATIONAL PIGS-IN-A-BLANKET DAY

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

1.  Typically served as an hors d'oeuvre, have you ever made or had a Pig-in-a-Blanket?  Do you like Pigs-in-a-Blanket? I have had them and I do love them, but I do not make them.
2.  Pigs-in-a-blanket are also known as devils on horseback, kilted sausages, and wiener winks. (Seriously.)  Please make up another name for this fun little appetizer!  Weenie roll-up
3.  In the UK, pigs-in-blankets are small sausages, or chipolatas wrapped up in bacon.  Which country's version is most appealing to your taste buds?  U.S.  The U.K one is too much meat for me.
4.  The first written record of pigs-in-a-blanket occurs in Betty Crocker's Cooking for Kids in 1957.  In this digital world, do you still have a favorite cookbook you use most of the time?  Is there a recipe you can share with us from that cookbook?  I use my  Betty Crocker Cookbook sometimes, but I have a stash of favorite recipes that are just handwritten and those are the ones I use the most.
5.  What is your favorite cooking show on TV?  Pioneer Woman
6.  Tell us something random about your week, please!  I enjoyed my 3 day weekend so much!  I watched Good Friday service on Friday, then the St. Louis Cardinals game on Saturday and Sunday Easter church services.  The week is going good so far.

Tuesday 4 Meme- Celebrating Earth Day

https://mytuesday4meme.blogspot.com/
Celebrating Earth Day

1.   What is your Favorite way to Celebrate Earth Day?  I wish I could say we actually did something great this year, but we didn't.  I normally like to clean up the yard.  Last year we had a friend come talk to the preschool kids about recycling.  There is always a group here in the area that picks up trash and the lakes and rivers here.

2.   What is your Favorite thing to do Outside?  Just relax and take in the sounds and look at all of the pretty things outside.

3.   What is Something we can do to Waste less Water?  I personally turn off the water as I brush my teeth.

4.   Why is it Important to care about our Earth?  It would become so trashy if we didn't and it could get out of hand.  This will help us keep our water clean too.  We also must recycle and take care of everything.  This is the only home we have.  We should take care of it and keep it clean.

Saturday 9- Mighty Clouds of Joy

http://samanthasaturday9.blogspot.com/

Saturday 9: Mighty Clouds of Joy (1974)

Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.

1) This song celebrates serenity. Are you feeling peaceful this morning?  YES!  School is out for three days!

2) The lyrics include allusions to sun and clouds. How does the world look where you are? Is it sunny or cloudy?  Sunny

3) This week's featured artist, BJ Thomas, is in the Grammy Hall of Fame for another hit record that uses weather as a metaphor, "Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head." Make up a Hall of Fame that you believe you should be inducted into. (For example, Crazy Sam has inducted herself into The Meme Mistress Hall of Fame for her service to Saturday 9.)  Love the Children Hall of Fame.  I can't help myself.  I work with 3-5 year olds and they are super precious!  Their parents are so kind to share them with us for the short time we have them and we all love those kids so much.

4) When Crazy Sam hears this song, she always sings along ... loud. Is there a song you simply cannot resist singing along with?  Lots of songs I sing along LOUD and dance!  When I drive to school in the morning mostly.  I always hope I am not being followed by a co-worker.  I need tinted windows.  Ha!

5) BJ Thomas has performed this song at The Grand Ole Opry. The Opry has been broadcast on the radio every week since 1925, nearly 95 years ago! Of course, back in the 1920s, radio was the only broadcast media. Today we have other choices. Is listening to the radio part of your daily routine?   Oh Yes!  I listen on my way to and from work and really anytime I am driving, but to and from work would be part of my daily routine.

6) Though their dress code is lenient, country music fans who attend the Opry for a live show are warned: "Just remember, there's one rule we take very seriously here at the Grand Ole Opry -- you must wear something." Easter Sunday is a day many of us dress up. What will you be wearing today?  On Sunday or Saturday?  Saturday I will be wearing my St. Louis Cardinals gear, we are going to a baseball game.  Sunday, we will stream church online, so something comfortable.

7) Easter is recognized as the start of the spring season. What are you looking forward to this spring?  I was really happy about the grass and trees turning green and the flowers blooming.  I am looking forward to decorating my yard with flowers, but I do that in May because of freezing temps.

8) Lilies are popular at Easter. Do you have a favorite flower? I really love all flowers.

9) Which would rather find in your Easter basket: yellow marshmallow chicks (aka Peeps) or a plastic egg filled with pennies? I will take the pennies.  Peeps are so gross to me...but I know better than to yuck someone's yum!

Happy Easter everyone!

Wednesday Medley- NATIONAL HAIKU POETRY DAY

http://tdorsaneo.blogspot.com/

NATIONAL HAIKU POETRY DAY – April 17

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1.  Haiku poetry is actually pretty easy to write.  Give it a try right here...
Easter time is here
Jesus has Risen Indeed
Let us all rejoice.

2.  Haiku poetry aside, have you ever written a poem?  Will you share it with us?  When I was in college I wrote some poetry and I put it into a book and gave it to my boyfriend.  We broke up of course...I never really was inspired to write any poetry any time after that.  I think we were studying poetry in one of my classes and that is why I was writing so much.
3.  Do you have a favorite poet or does poetry usually make you yawn?  I enjoy Shel Silverstein for kids.  I enjoy poetry very much, but I do not get to read it much.
4.  April 17  is National Ellis Island Family History Day, too,  Did any of your ancestors or relatives immigrate through Ellis Island from another country?   I am adopted, so no idea.
5.  We also celebrate National Cheeseball Day on April 17th.  Do you have a favorite cheeseball recipe to share with us or have cheeseballs basically disappeared from parties today?  nope, we never make those.  My mom has made a few in the past.
6.  If you want to share, please tell us something random about your week.  It is a very busy short week (we get Friday off) at school with Graduation coming up we have started doing some of those things to get things ready for the kid's graduation folders they will take home.  My husband, son and I are also getting excited about our trip to St. Louis to see The St. Louis Cardinals on Saturday.

Tuesday 4 Meme- This Holiday Week

https://mytuesday4meme.blogspot.com/
This Holiday Week

1.   What are your Easter or Passover Traditions?  We go to church Sunday morning.  When Josh was little we would do Easter egg hunting and Easter baskets.   Then of course we have Easter dinner.  I always felt like people should have the next day off.  Easter is so busy and you can't completely enjoy it having to work the next day.  It was great when I was a stay at home mom.

2.   What is your favorite Dish for this Holiday? We usually have ham, mashed potatoes and ham gravy, hot rolls, green beans, deviled eggs.  Much the same as Christmas dinner.  My mom usually makes some crazy Easter cake.  It is different every year.

3.   Do You Go to Mass, Service or Church? church

4.   Do you spend The Holiday at Home, on Vacation, or with Family
?usually with family, but this year we are doing something different.  We are going to St. Louis to see a St. Louis Cardinals game.  We are going Saturday, so we will probably still see church online and probably not make a huge Easter dinner, just something normal and I will do laundry and get ready to go back to work.

Sunday Stealing- Fill in the Blanks

https://sundaystealing.blogspot.com/

It's always nice when things go the way they are supposed to.

Oh, that silly boy.

It's a sure sign of Spring when the allergies start.

Are we having pizza again??!.

My heart hurts.

Do you believe in miracles? I do!

I'm a mom.

I was so tired.

People act crazy when the moon is full.

When we get rich we will buy a new house.

Coconut Cream Pie is the best!

Underneath it all I still love you.

Oh! And thanks for the memories.

And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to watching the Cardinal game, tomorrow my plans include laundry and Sunday, I want to go to church!

Saturday 9- April Love

http://samanthasaturday9.blogspot.com/

April Love (1957). Unfamiliar with this week's song? Hear it here.

1) In this song, Pat Boone sings that April love is a wonder reserved for the very young. Do you think the sensation of falling in love changes as we grow older?  I don't think so, I think we are smarter about it, but I think if I were going through that again it would feel the same.

2) "April Love" reached #1 on the charts. Between this song and "Love Letters in the Sand," Pat Boone had a career year. Only one artist sold more records in 1957: Elvis Presley. When you think of Elvis, what's the first song that comes to mind?  Jailhouse Rock

3) Pat was extremely busy in high school. He wrote for the school paper, ran track, and acted in school plays. Share a memory of your extracurricular activities during high school.  I was a varsity cheerleader and in student council.  I was also in choir and choraliers (song and dance group)...no memories are coming to mind.  I did have fun in high school, but I cannot recall a fun memory right now.  The cheerleaders did teach me how to apply make-up and I think that is where my love for make-up came from.  My mom and dad did not want me wearing make-up for a long time, so I had no access to any make-up.

4) It was his track coach who introduced Pat to the new girl in school, Shirley Foley. Three years later Pat and Shirley married, and remained man and wife for 65 years, until her death earlier this year. Who is the longest married couple you know?  I really do not pay attention, but I remember my mom telling everyone that she and my dad were married 52 years when he died and their anniversary would have been this month.

5) Pat has lived in the same house for more than 60 years. He once received an offer to sell it for $18,000,000 but turned it down because it's the Boone family home and he simply doesn't want to leave. Do you plan on moving in the foreseeable future?  no

6) Pat has a warm friendship with his neighbors, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne. Pat has mentioned in interviews that he has enjoyed bike rides around Beverly Hills with Sharon. Tell us about one of your neighbors.  We had a neighbor with the nickname of Pickle that lived right next to us when we first got married.  He was the nicest man you could ever meet, but he died shortly after we got married and no one is currently living in his house.  We also had a sweet lady across the street named Pauline that I loved and visited.  She was older and passed many years ago too.

7) Mr. Boone was very critical of Barack Obama, enthusiastically supports Donald Trump, and has appeared on Fox News to express his views. How do you feel about celebrities talking politics?  I wish they would keep their opinions to themselves.  I don't care what they think.  They are entertainers and should not use their platform to talk politics on tv.  This has caused me to change the channel so many times.  I do not respect their opinion most of the time anyway.  They do not even live in reality.  I do however support them getting behind their cause like normal people and going to rallies or supporting candidates, etc.

8) In 1957, the year this song was popular, Dr. Ian Donald pioneered the use of ultrasound technology. Today ultrasounds are commonly used by doctors in diagnosing conditions affecting the eyes, blood vessels, kidneys, gall bladder and more. Have you ever had an ultrasound?  Yes when I was pregnant and also when I was having gallbladder problems they could see I had gall stones with the ultrasound.

9) Random question: You're sitting alone in a restaurant, waiting for a friend. The waiter brings you a drink and the compliments of a member of the opposite sex seated at the bar. What's your reaction? Are you flattered, shocked, embarrassed, intrigued or annoyed?  I think I would feel all of those emotions except annoyed.  I don't think that would happen though.

Wednesday Medley- NATIONAL SIBLINGS DAY

http://tdorsaneo.blogspot.com/

National Siblings Day - April 10

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Just a note before we start... if you are an only child, substitute an aunt, cousin, or a friend if you want to participate!)
1.  Stealing the questions from above:  How many siblings do you have? Are you rivals or do you support each other in all you do?  I am an only child.

2.  Have you heard of the Birth Order Book?  What are your thoughts on the premise that your birth order affects everything you do in life?  I really wouldn't know.

3.  Is there something that you still do that drives your siblings crazy?  I used to be super close with my cousins, but they live so far away, I don't know what I do that drives them crazy.

4.  Are you closer to your siblings now than you were when you were younger?  I will substitute my cousins and we are actually not as close.  We spent summers together when we were kids and do not see each other now.  There was a family rift with my mom and uncle. :/

5.  Would you dare to tell us an embarrassing story about a sibling? no

6.  Tell us something random about your week.  I can answers this.  My co-workers and I went to our Christian Women conference last Friday.  We went out to eat and then to the conference.  It was so nice and soul refreshing.  We even all got a free book.  Then we went to have frozen custard afterwards.  This was in Branson, MO...so we stopped and watched the traffic and the ferris wheel as we ate our custard.  I got home close to midnight.  I had so much fun.  This week is HOT!  It is suppose to be in the mid 80's Wednesday....but temps falling by Friday to the 40's!  Here is a picture of the book I got.  It is a 40 Day Prayer Challenge.  It tells you ways in your life to be more prayerful.  I am enjoying it.  I am on Day 4.

Saturday 9- If I Could Turn Back Time

http://samanthasaturday9.blogspot.com/

Saturday 9: If I Could Turn Back Time (1989)

Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.

1) The official video for this song was filmed on board the battleship USS Missouri. When is the last time you were on a boat or ship? August of 2009 when we went on the Dolphin Tour in Orange Beach, Alabama.  I love boats and we live near a lake, but we never go.

2) This song was written by Diane Warren. Ms. Warren has written love songs recorded by Celine Dion, Toni Braxton, LeAnn Rimes and more, yet she's never married and has really only had one serious romantic relationship. She acknowledges this makes her an unusual spokeswoman for the glory and pain of love. When you have a relationship problem, who do you go to for advice?  I guess my mom.

3) In this song, Cher wishes she could turn back time and have a different conversation with a former lover, changing what she said to him. Here at Saturday 9, we're not so ambitious with our time travel. We're only going back to yesterday. Is there anything you'd do differently?  no, yesterday was a great day!  I had a night out with the girls last night and we had so much fun.  We went out to dinner and to a woman's Christian conference.  Then afterwards we went and had frozen custard.  We all got a free book at the conference too!

4) In 1966, Cher and her then-husband Sonny sang at a private birthday party for Jacqueline Kennedy. At first, Cher didn't want to do it, thinking that performing to a small gathering would be awkward. But it turned out to be a wonderful opportunity for her. That night, she met Diana Vreeland, the editor of Vogue. Vreeland liked Cher's look so much she set up a photo shoot. Cher, who always loved experimenting with hair and makeup, enjoyed the shoot immensely. Tell us about a social gathering where you had an unexpectedly good time.  I knew I would have fun last night, so I will say last Christmas with Karl's family.  He has a sister and his mom too are super loud and get on my nerves.  Well, they were kind of calm this year and my nephew had all of his little girls there and we all played with the little girls....they are so super cute!

5) At that same party, Cher said she was surprised by how big Jackie's hands were. Do you like your hands?  not really.  I have short fingers.

6) One night, before a performance in Detroit, Cher saw a little furry something under one of her tour buses. It was a kitten that that she named Mr. Big, hoping he would grow into the name. He did, and the tomcat was her constant companion for four years until he died of a congenital heart ailment. She has said that she will "never not miss him." Is there a furry companion who has a special place in your memories? I had a dog in high school named Kai...he was so cute.  The pet I will "never not miss" when she passes is my dog Mandy who is getting close, she is old.

7) Cher recently appeared in Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again. It's the second movie based on the music of ABBA. What's your favorite ABBA song? Mamma Mia I guess.

8) In 1989 -- the year this song was popular -- Mattel released a series of special "Scarlett O'Hara" Barbie doll to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Gone with the Wind. Did you enjoy the classic movie? Have you read the book?  I enjoyed the movie, I never read the book.  My son just finished it though.

9) Random question -- Check your spam folder and tell us one of the subject lines.  Free puppy with every purchase.
