Fall decorations and Friendship Pie

I was able to get the yard decorated for Fall last week.  The front of my house is long, so my decorations are scattered along the whole front of my house, but here is a picture of one side.  There is another mum on the other side of the door and then there is another flower bed I have decorated on the other side of that.  I also took my mom and she was able to get some mums also and we picked up some groceries.

I met my friends Malinda and Natalie on Tuesday night.  We had all worked at the preschool at one time together.  That is how we started the "Friendship Pie" tradition.  Natalie was talking about how we needed Friendship Pie.  I was like what are you talking about??  She talks fast.  She had not said Friendship Pie, but French Silk Pie.  We had one the next day and it turned into a tradition since then.  Every time one of us has a birthday we get French silk Pie...now known as Friendship Pie.  We met at 7:30PM so Natalie could get her kids to bed and then we visited until after 9PM, we had a great time.  She also bought me some eye liner for my birthday.  Natalie is really into make-up and she is young.  She got me some Urban Decay eye liner and I LOVE it.  It does not run or smear.  I really like that.

I am not sure what is going on this week.  My mom is planning a shopping trip on Thursday with her friend, so I may go stay with my dad.  He is still ok alone for short times with his alzheimer's, but sometimes he forgets to eat.  So I may just go make sure he eats and visit with him and then pick up Josh when school is over.  I need to clean house today.  Have a nice week!!

  1. Hi Lori,

I can't see up close either, that is why I got the glasses, the top part is clear/normal, the bottom part is for up close, which I have a hard time with like you. the thing is I get tired of putting my glasses on and off during the day because i read a lot throughout the day, phone, directions and the Internet and etc.
Well I sure can relate to the back. OM Goodness...by back hurts just doing the silliest things, then I have to lay on a heating pad for days or over night. I have the sciatica and other degenerative back, they said slight but if this is slight I hate to see or feel what serious is!
I cannot work with my back like this either. I find walking is good, the elliptical is ok and going for a walk in a brisk way causes me no problems. I try to do back stretches. I am kind of lazy sometimes about that stuff. POO. Have a great week, and I do pray something opens up for you soon! Hugs xo xo

  2. Hi Lori,

I have never heard of Ragweed, but we may have it here. However if we do, I guess I am not allergic to it because i am very allergic to everything.
I love the weather when it's 70 or less that is my favorite. Yes it does freeze here, because we live near the Sierra Mountains. It freezes in lots of places in CA if you live near the mountains. It does not freeze at/near the ocean here. Usually when it freezes I lose plants, mostly flowers. It freezes in November and Dec as well as January and even sometimes in Feb. After that it does not freeze. I hate winter and summer.
We want to move to Oregon when Steve retires. I cannot stand the state I live in for many reasons and the weather in our area is to hot.
I love the weather you are having right now, my kind of weather. We had those days a week or so ago, then it got hot again. Boo!

    Have a great Wednesday! Hugs

  3. Hi Lori! I love the idea of friendship pie. I really wish I had a close Christian friend to hang out with. I did for a couple of years, but sadly we have grown apart. My kids decorated the outside of my house for Halloween last weekend. I don't let them do anything gory, so they settle for pumpkins, friendly looking ghosts, and a few bones scattered around. Christmas is the holiday I enjoy decorating for, but I sure am not looking forward to winter. I hope you have a very blessed weekend sweetie! xoxo
