I did not want to leave you hanging.  After I made my previous post and knowing that I would be home all day I decided to message the friend that I was switched with at my job.  She verified that I would be working with the student I was with last year.  Then about an hour later the special education director (our boss) e-mailed and told me that they had decided to leave me with my student, so that was great news and a huge burden off my shoulders.  The position they were wanting me to do was something I would have been all about when I was younger, but as I age I am just not wanting to get hurt or beat on.  I am very happy and I will get to stay working with my friends.  I do not easily just open myself up to trust people/or easily make friends, but I met several last year and they are all treasures.  God has been so good to me.
Josh and I were with my parents last night and the Olympic Gymnastics girls came on tv.  I was so excited, so was my mom.  I am very excited about Simone Biles.  Is anyone else watching them yet?  They are looking good.  They will be back on tv Sunday night.
I have made plans to meet a couple of friends from work on Tuesday for lunch.  We are meeting at 11:00 and then afterwards I will go to my parents house.
Have a great weekend!

  1. Hi Lori! I am so glad that you get to stay in your current position! I agree that getting beat up by special needs kids is no fun. We have a kindergarten boy who gets very violent and he actually bit a para hard enough that she had to get a tetanus shot. They were going to have me working with him next year until I told them I was quitting, and then they offered me preschool. I worked with him a little bit during summer school and I had to help carry him (kicking and screaming) out of the room more than once.

Enjoy your lunch with your friends on Tuesday. Big hugs! <3

  2. Hi Lori, thanks for visiting my blog. because my mom got Alzheimers, my dad had to do most of her planning with our help. But they did have a trust done years before so legal things were done. My dad had most of his arrangements done too and we finalized all things with him. We were able to carry our all his wishes and have the funeral he wanted. It is hard but easier on the family when so much of it is done before having to deal with the grief when they passed. Enjoy your summer. Glad you got the position you wanted. Hugs

  3. Hi Lori; what wonderful news for you that you get to stay in your current position and work with the same student. That will keep you from being stressed that's for sure. Hope your weekend was a blessing too. Have a wonderful day ahead my friend. :)

  4. Hi Lori, Great news! So happy for you! I'm watching the girls gymnastics too! Love Simone and Gabby too! Hugz!

  5. It's great to hear you got what you wanted in your job. A real blessing.
I haven't been watching sports for a while now, have to get back into that.
I do go see my granddaughter play hockey and lacrosse but nothing professional in a long time.
    Hope your weekend is wonderful.
