Tuesday 4 Meme

Bath Time

Hello!  It is nice to have you back again for Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4.
There is something lovely about a nice hot bath on a  cold autumn night after a busy day isn't there?
Growing up our home had an old claw foot tub and I loved to fill it to the brim and sit there until my toes were like prunes.
Can we discuss the secrets of the bath?

1.Do you take baths or showers?  Is there a reason you prefer one to the other?  I take showers.  It just seems to go faster for me and I am usually trying to get ready for work.  It is also getting harder for me to get out of the bathtub.  ugh.

2. Once a day shower or bath or do you have a different schedule?  once a day shower in the morning.

3. What are your favorite soap and shampoo?  I use the gold Dial soap and Biolage shampoo and conditioner.  I am excited to read the answers for soap on this one.

4.  Back in the day many loved Jean Nate spray after a bath.  My mom enjoyed Avon's Skin so Soft.. what do you like in the way of skin creams, oils or sprays?  I just use Curel lotion in the fall/winter because my skin gets drier or St. Ives in the spring/summer.

Get out and vote!

  1. I used to use St. Ive's lotion, but it seems like all my stores around here quit carrying it, so I switched to the Aveeno, which works just as well. Gold Dial soap, really??? I grew up using that soap. My mother wouldn't use anything else! But I found it to be a bit too harsh for me as I got older. I tried Dove and used that for many years, until I found this goat's milk soap that I use now. My skin and complexion are so much better since I switched to it and now I get into a panic if I can't find it because it is a homemade soap using real goat's milk and lavender! I have a local source where I get it, but if she quits making it, I will have to find another comparable one. But I sure do remember that Gold Dial Soap! I haven't used it probably since I got married 55 years ago! LOL. But hey, if it works for you, then that's great! My mother would be proud of you! LOL. Have a great day my friend!!

  2. I was eager to see what soaps everyone liked but not a lot have joined in this week. I loved Dial back when it really was antibacterial but, they said it was bad and removed it from the soap. Still, it was always great for teenage skin I think. I suffer from alopecia so I try to be careful what I put on my skin and head especially.

  5. Hi Lori, growing older certainly affects so many things including getting up and off or out of something. Sorry it's affecting your bathing routine. I'm wondering if one of those tub lifts would help you? I've never used Dial soap. Back in the day when I still used bar soap I always used Ivory and sometimes Dove as my skin got drier.
