hello!!

It is such a nice day.  I feel so lazy when it is cold and cloudy.  Well today it is sunny and 73º and just perfect.

Last time I wrote I was getting ready to test some kids and I was really nervous about it.  Well, it went just fine and there was nothing to be nervous about.  The kids were great and did not resist being tested.  Still glad that it is over.  My process coordinator is back, so not sure if I will be sent out to do anymore testing or not.
We ended up having a snow day last Thursday and a teacher work day on Friday.  We were able to finish the lesson plans for the rest of the year.  I have never done that before.  It feels good.  We also cleaned my office a couple of weeks ago, it was a disaster.  The whole preschool looks nice now.
Josh continues to do well at Sylvan...he has scored 2 grade levels above where he was when he first started the other night.  I am proud of him.  He is still behind though, so we press on.  He is not far off grade level now though.
There is not much going on but work and taking Josh back and forth to Sylvan.  I do take Josh to the orthodontist on Monday.  UGH.  He has been in braces forever...not even kidding.  This is year 4.  Well, I better go.  Have a great weekend!!

busy busy

Hello friends!!!  I haven't posted since I started back up to school.  We went back that first day with kids and I got hit with a lot of work to do.  There have just been a lot of changes and things going on, so I wasn't really thinking about blogging too much.  I have been posting at my PICTUREIT 365 though, because I do not have to think about what I am going to write.  Anyway, I got a lot done today, a meeting I have been waiting on getting done all month finally happened today and one last Friday also.  We cleaned the preschool.  My office gets a lot of things dumped in it so things are not in the classroom or speech room, so that got cleaned today along with my desk.  Feels good to be able to walk in there and it not be a mess.  I just have to test two kids next week and my tasks will be caught up.  The testing was supposed to be this past Wednesday, but the kids have been sick.  We will try next week.  I will be glad to get it over with. 
Josh has still been going to Sylvan and so far his grade is better in math this quarter.  We will see how that goes.
I guess I had better go for now.  I will check in soon to let you all know how the testing goes.  Have a nice weekend.

movies...

I have really enjoyed my time off for the holidays.  I hate to see it end.  January 1st we took our Christmas stuff down and cleaned the whole house.  I will feel better knowing things are clean as I go back to work.  It is hard to keep up with when we are working and running to tutoring at night.  They are saying it is going to get really cold starting tonight.  I hope you all stay warm.
Josh has gone to stay the night again with my mom and dad.  It is good.  He is the age that he doesn't like to be home.  It is good for him to spend time with them.
We have watched so many movies over this break.
The Interview...kind of dumb
The Maze Runner-  we liked it.  Sort of like The Hunger Games/The Giver/Divergent...that feel.
Belle-  really liked that one, if you are looking for a rental, that is a good one.
Blended-  very funny and enjoyed it very much.
When the Game Stands Tall- was not looking forward to this one, but it is good.
We really need to look into getting Amazon Prime or Netflix or something.  We rarely find what we want at RedBox.  We usually purchase our movies through Google Play.
I am going to try and make another blog visit tonight.  It will probably be my last for a while.  Have a nice winter and stay safe and warm.

Happy New Year 2015!!!

Well, here we are the last day of 2014.  It was not an bad year, but a year of a lot of pain for me with my back and sciatic nerve.  That started in March and did not stop until July after I had spent the month going to the chiropractor.  My back has done really well ever since, so I made a visit to the chiropractor on Monday just to make sure I am in line to start off the year.  I also had my hair highlighted.  It is a little darker than it usually is and the blond highlights are gone for the winter now.
Josh had tutoring on Tuesday, so we went grocery shopping and picked up some things from Wal~Mart we needed.  I am so paranoid to go out right now because of the flu going around, but hopefully those people who are sick are at home resting.
I spent some time today looking for winter themes for my blog.  What you see if what I came up with.  I am really happy with it and it was about time I did something different in here.  I had it really messed up for a while though.  It was worth it.

Josh has gone to spend the night with my mom and dad.  Karl and I will probably just watch movies or football (Bowl) games tonight and maybe catch some of the Rockin' New Year's Eve in New York.  I hope you all have a safe and Happy New Year.  We will be taking down our Christmas tomorrow and cleaning the house.  Have a great day!!

Christmas Shopping

Happy Tuesday Friends!!  I was planning to take my mom Christmas shopping yesterday and I called her to make sure she was up only to find out that their heater was not working.  Thankfully Karl was off and we went down and Karl got it working.  I was afraid they might need a new one.  Then we put up their Christmas Tree.  They have not had it up for several years.  It looks nice.  At that point it was only 10:30AM, so we decided to go Christmas Shopping.  Karl and Josh went home, my mom took her shower and we took off.  She found what she needed at every store we went to.  It was good and it was busy, but not ridiculous.  We ate some late lunch/dinner and then we went grocery shopping.  Then home.  It was a busy day, but I am glad my mom was able to get all of her Christmas shopping done.
Today we are set to go to Sylvan from 4-6PM.  Josh can work on basic math concepts.  He was able to re-do all of his homework and re-take his tests last week, but they have not been graded that I can tell.  I hope the teacher grades them.
They say we may get some snow tomorrow.  I kind of hope it does snow some, just not enough to mess up anyone's plans for visiting with family.  We are not going anywhere until Christmas Day.  We will go to my mom and dad's house and have Christmas with them.

We had Christmas with Karl's family last weekend and they took pictures of Karl's mom and dad along with the Grandkids.  Here is a picture.  They did serious...or crazy old time is what they look like and they did a normal shot of everyone smiling also.  Josh is on the left in the brown on the end.  Such funny pictures.  Have a great week and Merry Christmas if I do not make it back on here.

This week is much like last week with the tutoring.  The math teacher has not re-graded anything though, so I really do not know if we are making any headway or not.  Josh seems to be doing ok in his other classes.  He is not feeling the best, so I will be glad when this week is over so he can just rest some.
Tomorrow we have our class party.  The kids will be getting lots of gifts.  It will be fun.  That will be their last day.  Then Malinda (my para) and I will work in the classroom on Friday and get the Christmas stuff put away and get everything ready or the New Year.  We have a half day and then our vacation begins.  We will have 2 weeks off.
We got our Christmas shopping done and presents wrapped over the weekend, so I am excited about that.  Have a great week!!!

1.   Favorite Christmas Cake: When Josh was little we made a birthday cake for Jesus, but we haven't done that in a while and we do not make many cakes at Christmas at out house.
2.   Favorite Christmas Cookie: Sugar Cookies
3.   Favorite Christmas Pie: Seriously...any kind.  I love pie!!!
4.   Favorite Christmas Candy: Not a big fan of candy, so fudge I guess.

My conference went really well last Friday and it helped me identify some needs in kids I currently have.  I was able to put some ideas to work right away and it has helped them.  Glad I went.
I think we have most of our Christmas gifts, so I need to work on getting those under the tree now.  I did get some Christmas cards sent out to family.
We have tutoring 3 maybe 4 times this week for Josh in a last ditch attempt to help his math grade.  I am not very optimistic, but he is wanting to try, so I say let him go for it.  That is half the battle just wanting to do it.
