Saturday 9- Tossed Salad and Scrambled Eggs

Tossed Salad and Scrambled Eggs (1993)

1) This is the theme from Frasier, a TV show that ran  from 1993 to 2004. Were you a fan?  I LOVED Frasier!

2) The show is about a radio advice show host, Dr. Frasier Krane. When you listen to the radio, do you tune in for talk or music?  music

3) The theme's composer explained that tossed salad and scrambled eggs are both "mixed up," like the people who called Frasier's radio show. Which did you eat more recently, tossed salad or scrambled eggs? scrambled eggs

4) Peri Gilpin played Roz, Frasier's coworker at the radio station. The actress originally cast was Lisa Kudrow, but the show's producers didn't feel she was "right." Being released from Frasier gave her the opportunity to accept a bigger and better part: Phoebe on Friends. Can you think of a time when a setback was really a blessing in disguise?  In my case, I used to teach for a special education coop.  The coop served several counties in Southwest Missouri.  I worked there for 10 years at a school in walking distance of my house and the last year they wanted me to teach in one of the schools an hour away.  I quit.  I felt awful.  I am with one district now though and the people I work with are fantastic.  I did not realize how toxic of an environment I was in until I was gone.

5) Dr. Krane shared his home with Martin, his retired dad. Martin's favorite chair was well-worn recliner, held together in parts with tape. Frasier tried to replace it by giving his father a brand-new, expensive leather chair as a gift. Martin wanted his old recliner back. Tell us about a present you either gave or received that wasn't a hit.  My in-laws used to give me Nascar stuff for Christmas...I am not a fan...so a lot of money spent to just sit in my house and not get used.

6) Kelsey Grammer played Dr. Krane on three different series (Cheers, Wings and Frasier) over 20 years. What job have you held the longest?  Probably that teaching job with the coop for 10 years, this will be my 5th year at my current job.

7) Before he found success on Cheers, Grammer played bit parts on the daytime dramas Ryan's World and Another World. Have you ever followed a soap opera?  Oh goodness yes, I love the drama.  My Granie got me hooked on As The World Turns when I was little...it is off the air now.  I watch Y&R and Bold and the Beautiful in the summer.  CBS soaps.

8) In addition to work in front of the camera, Grammer has done voice over work on commercials for Dr. Pepper and Cheerios. Are either of those products in your kitchen right now?  nope

9) Random question: You're invited to a party where dinner is served buffet style. There's spaghetti with tomato sauce, barbecue spare ribs and buffalo wings. When the evening is over, how likely are you to have a food stain on your clothes?  very likely!  I would choose the ribs and I always make a mess with ribs.

  1. Too funny. I get NASCAR stuff, too.

My friends like NASCAR. I just tag along with them because they're nice enough to do Green Bay Packers stuff with me.

  2. So glad you were able to get out of your toxic school environment and find a much better situation! Sometimes things really DO work out... Not that I eat pork (ribs are pig, aren't they? I don't even know, TBH!!), but i would have no idea how to begin to eat the ribs. I'm sure I'd be a mess, also!

  3. My aunt's husband loved NASCAR and assumed everyone did. When my daughter turned 16 he gave her a very expensive NASCAR jacket. It was covered with all the sponsor's logo patches. It hung here in a closet until he passed away and then we donated it to charity. Still had the tags on it.

Isn't it "funny" how we so often can't see how toxic situations or relationships are until we are already removed from them. We were in a church like that. We were devoted to it and when church politics forced us out I was devastated, but as time went by I began to realize what an unhealthy place it had been and I know wonder why we were so blind to it.

    Have a great Saturday, Lori!

  4. At the laundromat the other day, the TV was tuned to Y&R and I was shocked that some of the characters I remembered from my college years were still on!

  10. I know what a "toxic environment" is at work. I gleefully quit a job like that and felt empowered that I did.

  12. Arghhhhhhhhhhhh NASCAR!!!! Don't even get me going on this...my husband is a retired chaplain and he use to attend many NASCAR events due to his job. Not that I am thankful for all that was done...just saying...

Toxic environments are real...especially in some school districts and the unions (I use to teach many moons ago).

We sure are messy group, aren't we? LOL

  15. I look at my nephew and I realize how lucky I am not his generation, jobs are no longer permanent you only get hired for a project. Once the project is over they through you out on the street.

  16. This is the happiest moment of my life having no longer to worry about paying bills as i have been settled for life. A lot has been said about atm hacking and blank card for cash withdrawal but it all seemed like a myth to me until i eventually lost my job few months back and the world seemed to be moving backwards. I went online in search of jobs and means to an end and there i found comments about BLANKATMONLINEREGOFFICIALS and how they deliver this card in less than 7 days with no risk involved and a far much lesser price compared to what the card itself can give you, i then made contact and purchase one from them with almost my last dollars I took the risk and in exactly 6 days latter my card and a manual was delivered to my home address here in California and that same evening i used the card was able to take out $5000 for a start its been just 3 weeks and my life has taken a new shape. I simply want to say thank you to this company and help spread their fame abroad. If you ever are in need of this card definitely contact them via email :blankatmonlinereg@gmail.com
