Who is your favourite author? As you know I have just started reading again, so I really enjoyed Mary Kubica, Liane Moriarty, Fannie Flagg and Louise Penny this summer.
What was the last book you read? Big Little Lies- Liane Moriarty
What book reminds you of your school days? The Friends We Keep by Jane Green reminded me of college a little bit.
What book releases are you looking forward to? Well, I do not really keep up with those yet, but I do know Louise Penny released a new one a bit ago, but I am behind in that series and I plan to read them in order.
What movie releases are you looking forward to? I believe The Night Circus is coming out in November. I wouldn't mind seeing that...I am using a movie that was a book made into a movie.
What 3 books are you planning to read? Little Fires Everywhere, Where the Crawdad's Sing, What Alice Forgot.
Have you ever damaged a book? no
How long does it take you to read a book? this summer when I could read more I read a book in about 3 days. It is taking me 1-2 weeks now. It is hard when your husband watches tv all of the time.
Books you haven’t finished? I only did not finish one book over the summer and it was Just What Kind of Mother Are You? I just couldn't get into it.
Popular books you didn’t like? Maybe the one I just mentioned...other than that I usually enjoy the books I pick out.
Is there a book you wouldn’t tell people you were reading? no, but I would not recommend some of the books I have read to certain people I know because of theme or genre or too much cursing, etc.
How many books do you own? I own a lot of children's books for teaching, but not too many adult books. I just check them out. Josh owns several. I can borrow his too. Someone was asking if we borrowed each other's books. I like some of the books he has read...Fannie Flagg, but he likes different genres than I do. I really enjoy psychological thrillers and he really shouldn't be reading those.
Are you a fast or slow reader? it depends on if I actually have time to read or not.
Do you read better in your head our out loud? in my head. I give my characters voices and I can see the book as a movie in my mind as I am reading. I dreamed about my book characters some over the summer.
We do form very definite ideas of what characters look like or sound like, don't we? I think that's part of the disappointment in seeing a movie after reading the book...it never matches up with what I've imagined.

DeleteI thought the last question was slightly odd because I don't know anybody who doesn't read in their head. Like you, I like to imagine the world my characters are lving in, how they speak and what they look like. My head is an amazing place when I am reading a decent book.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, I lucked in on a audio book by Fannie Flagg that we listened to on the road to the beach a few years ago it was such a hoot. It really made the trip fly by!!
ReplyDeleteI interpreted that last question as eyeball reading or audio listening. I listen about as much as I eyeball read because I like knitting and listening.
ReplyDeleteOh ok. I do not know when I would be able to listen to an audio book, but I would live to try it one day.
DeleteIts amazing to see how people interpret voices or characters or even have ideas of how they would look! Enjoyed your answers a lot.
ReplyDeleteI’ve read quite a few books that I just didn’t get the choices made for the cast.

I loved the HBO Big Little Lies. I'm afraid that knowing who did it and would just ruin the book for me, which is kinda sad, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteI am the same way. If I see the movie first, I will not read the book. I do not have HBO, but I really want to see this show. ♥
DeleteI am glad you are reading again. It's fundamentally good for you.
ReplyDeleteThe Night Circus. That sounds interesting to me because that is what I call my job.
