Echocardiogram and Chest X-Ray

Today I went to have my Echocardiogram and chest x-ray.  I was there for over an hour.  My doctor did call this afternoon and everything looks normal and I am so happy!  My doctor called last week about the thyroid and ordered some medicine for my thyroid and my vitamin D was low too, so a prescription for that.  Our prescription insurance does not pay unless it comes from this certain pharmacy in St. Louis, so I am still waiting on my medicine to get to me through the mail, but it should be here this week.  I hope it makes me feel less tired.  My blood pressure seems to be running good when I take it at home.  I feel a lot of anxiety when I am at the doctor, but I am not sure if that is why it runs high.
I kind of lost my momentum last week with my cleaning, but I did get my dresser cleaned today.  I have two more drawers to go through, but I decided to stop.  I got the top cleaned and organized.  I also got our bar cleaned off.  The bar is a catch-all at our house.  Those are the kinds of things I am wanting to clean.  My house is always "picked up", but the deep cleaning....that is what I am working on.  I might tackle the kitchen table tomorrow, but that will be all.  It is a catch-all too.
Karl has been working nights, so I have been getting a lot done when he is gone in the evening.  The privacy fence is looking really nice.  He is taking a break from that too.  The next section will be a bear for him, he will have to remove a tree and weeds/bushes and vines from the neighbor's property.  It is not a big area, so that is good.
I am loving my summer break.  I know it is full of doctoring and cleaning, but I feel so good that I am getting it taken care of.  I needed to go to the doctor years ago, but I have been taking care of my parents.  This summer is about me, getting me on track and cleaning house.  I am doing fun things too.
I hope you are all doing really good!

cleaning, doctors and Phantom!

Hello friends!  I am still working on the house.  I have done a few things since I last wrote.  I got my bathrooms cleaned and all of the pictures on the wall dusted and I was able to go through my make-up and get rid of some of that.  We fill up our trash so fast with Karl working on the fence which is also coming along by the way, but I need to be able to throw things away.  I am a little stuck right now, so maybe I will work on my dresser in my bedroom this week, but that will probably be it.
Sunday we went to see The Phantom of the Opera.  It was so amazing!  Karl, Josh and I all went.  Josh has gotten to where he doesn't want to go very many places, but he went and he loved it.  I am glad we could share such an awesome musical with him.  I have been watching the broadway musicals that come through for one for us to see and none have caught my eye until Phantom.  It was a great night.  Afterwards we went and had Andy's Frozen Yogurt.  It was delicious.
I had to go to the doctor yesterday.  My blood pressure has been high for the past several years when I see my other doctor.  He told me in the winter I needed to start seeing an internal doctor.  My blood pressure was high when they took it, but they want me to check it at home..which I did and it seemed fine...112/80.  It was 128/90 in the doctor's office.  I will watch it over the next month and write down my blood pressure and go back then and share my results, she also ran bloodwork and urine tests and it looks like my thyroid might be off.  I saw the results online last night, but I will wait until I hear from her.  I really liked her.  She did order an EKG and chest X-ray just to be on the safe side because of my concern for my heart.  I do that on Monday the 4th.  I will keep you all posted.
I think that is it.  Oh...one more thing.  Mandy went to the vet and has a urinary tract infection...they get those a lot with DM, so she is on medicine and I found her some chews for after her antibiotics that are cranberry and D-Mannose.  I am going to see if those will help.
It is so hot here!  I hope you are all doing great!

School is out for summer!

Hello friends!  School is out for summer!  My last day was yesterday.  I am excited, but I will miss my friends and the kids.  The teachers do need a break though and so do the kids.
We had our preschool graduation a couple of weeks ago and it was super cute.  I was so afraid I was going to cry, but I did really well.  The kids all did a super job.  I will miss those going to Kindergarten.  They had to come right back to school for the last two weeks, but now we are all on break.
Now that school is out I am wanting to clean my house.  Karl has been working on putting up a privacy fence around our yard and I have decorated for summer with lots of flowers.  It has been so hot here already close to 90º.  The weathermen say it is July weather and I am not loving it.  I am glad I do not have to worry about recess duty anymore.  It was almost too hot to have the kids out.  It is really humid too.
So, yesterday when I got home I shampooed the carpets and cleaned the mirrors and toilets.  Today I took Josh to get a haircut, then dusted the furniture and started cleaning out shelves in our entertainment center and in Josh's bathroom.  My goal is to work through the house.  I have been so busy the past two years with my dad that I did not get a lot of deep cleaning done, so I am going to try to do that this year.
I still want to clean the sinks today and maybe go through my make-up.  We will see.
I do have a doctor's appointment on Tuesday.  My blood pressure has been high, so I am going to have that checked out.  I am sure they will look at everything.
I hope everyone is doing well!  Have a nice Memorial Day weekend.

Spring Break and Happy Easter!

I totally forgot to come in here and blog this week.  I am going to try and do it tonight.
I have been on Spring Break this week,  but it has been busy.  It began last Friday and I worked a half day and then my mom, Josh and I went shopping and out to eat.  We had fun.  Monday I went to the dentist and had a filling and a crown.  Tuesday I was home...that would have been a great day to blog!  Wednesday I had my hair cut and highlighted...it has blonde highlights for Spring/Summer and also went to walmart and did some laundry.  Thursday Josh and I went back to the dentist for more fillings.  Friday I did laundry and cleaned house.  I also have a pen pal from my stay at home mom days that I have started writing and so I wrote to my friend Candi.  Today we had night church (Easter services) and I will watch my Hallmark movie in a little while.  It has been busy, but it has been good and a lot has been accomplished.
Tomorrow for Easter we are planning to go to my mom's house for Easter dinner.  I think I will just stop for now so I have time to visit blogs!  I hope you all have a very Blessed Easter!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I have enjoyed this winter so far.  We had some snow and some ice.  We missed a few days of school and I was able to relax some, but now we seem to be turning a corner and trying to head into Spring.  My flowers (crocus) have bloomed as of about a week ago.  We are getting some spring storms.  In fact, our house got hit by lightning...as in our internet and it ruined our DSL box, 2 tvs and 2 DVD players.  Our deductible was too high, so we did not make a claim.  We just replaced our tvs.  We also started using Sling tv this year and got rid of satellite tv.  I did not like it at first, but now I do not miss it at all.  We are saving a lot of money each month...however, we did sign up for You Tube tv last weekend and I actually like it better, but here is the catch...You tube tv does not have the Hallmark channel, and I watch Hallmark all of the time.
Since I last posted, Mandy is still walking, but her back legs are much weaker.  I wish our animals could live forever.
Work is going great!  I just love it, however, we are getting close to the end of the year and we will be graduating some really wonderful kids to Kindergarten.  I am going to be a mess.  It has been a really great year.
Karl has been hard at work.  He got a promotion a few months ago, so he is a foreman now and he got a raise.  He deserves it, he works hard.
There is not a lot going on.  It is almost Spring Break, so I am hoping to be able to blog and visit blogs that week.  I hope you are all doing well.  Happy St. Patrick's Day!

In the new year...

We had really nice holidays except my mom got sick at Thanksgiving and that seemed to hang on.  I had to take her to the doctor and then after she should have been better, she got really sick again and had to come stay with us for a few weeks.  The good news is she is better now.  We had Thanksgiving at my house and my mom was able to do Christmas at her house.  We got Josh a smart tv and it is pretty neat.  We got rid of our dish satellite tv and we are trying Sling.  We are really hoping it works out, because it is about half the price.  Anyway, Josh's tv does really well with the Sling and the apps that go with it.
It has been two months since I last posted and Mandy continues to be able to walk, but her right back leg is getting really weak.  It is just sad.  You will have to read my last post to know what is going on.  We had a really good Christmas for the dogs though, so if it was her last, it was nice.  This sounds so depressing, but it is very upsetting for me.
My job is still going just great!  I absolutely love the people I work with and the kids are amazing!  We started back to work on January 2nd and the kids came back on the 3rd.  We finally were able to take them out to play on Friday because the weather has been so cold.  They do really good having to stay in.  There are a lot of sick kids too.  I hope they can come back next week.
The pictures above are of the dogs getting their presents from Santa Paws and a picture of Mandy by herself.  Then a picture of Josh with his new gloves.  You can click on the images to make them bigger so you can see them better.  I am kind of glad Josh asked for boots, hat, scarf and gloves for Christmas.  It has been so cold.  Well, I will get off of here for now.  Hopefully something awesome happens I can come post about.  Maybe I will win the lottery?  Hahahahaha.  Happy New Year 2018!  I hope it is a good year.

looking back at the year and Thanksgiving!

I wish I would have done a better job blogging this year because it has been a not so good year for me.  However, I do feel like through the bad things that have happened I have seen the good or things have happened that are good because of the bad.  I know that may not make any sense, but I did want to write it down on my blog so I have a record of it.  I am feeling great because of the gallbladder surgery.  Even though it is hard to find any good from my dad's death I do take comfort in knowing he is not confused or sick anymore and is whole again in heaven. My job is so much fun this year and I was super scared to change buildings, but it has been a good experience.  I am working with teachers more my age and as silly as that sounds, it is hard being around young people all of the time in the sense of they are not going through the same things as you are.  These teachers are all at the same point in their life as me and we just understand each other.  It is nice and it helps me be more ok with my age and where I am in my life.  I do still get to be around young teachers, which I do enjoy, but it is nice to have teachers that understand me too.  There is not much going on new except we did have blood drawn from Mandy to send off to see what is going on with her legs.  I suspect degenerative myelopathy which would paralyze her hind legs and the vet did not agree at first, but now they are wondering too if that is not what it is, so the results should be in soon.  If it is her back as in a slipped disc, I have found a doggie chiropractor I would like to try.  Anyway, enough if that.  I do have a picture from last week at our Book character parade for Halloween from the primary school.  This is my friend Meghan and myself.  Meghan is our speech therapist.  It is almost Thanksgiving!  I am so excited!
