Saturday 9: Miss Me More (2018)
Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.
Chosen because October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Learn more and spread the word that help is available.
1) This song is about a girl who ditched her high heels so she wouldn't be taller than her beau. Tell us about the most recent addition to your footwear wardrobe. Do you need to go shoe shopping? The most recent would be the shoes I bought for my nephews wedding, but I do not wear those daily...they have a heel. I do need to go shoe shopping. I always do.
2) She sings that she misses the sheets on the bed she made herself. As you answer these questions, is your bed made? nope, I used to make it everyday, but I seriously feel like I am running to get ready in the morning, so the bed is the last thing I am worried about.
3) This video shows her in a ring. Have you ever worn boxing gloves? no
4) This week's featured artist, Kelsea Ballerini, got married on Christmas Day in 2017. That makes their anniversary easy to remember. Are you celebrating any birthdays or anniversaries this month? no, not even at work.
5) Kelsea has been quoted as saying, "Perfect doesn't exist." She worries that we exhaust ourselves "trying to be something that isn't real." How about you? Do you believe your best is good enough? Or do you strive for perfection? My dad always told me to just do my best and that is all I can do. I have never forgotten that. I always just try to do my best and if others do not think that is good enough, then there is really nothing I can do.
6) One of Kelsea's tattoos is a square inside of a circle, aka a square peg in a round hole, on her left wrist. She says it's there to remind her that it's OK to "not fit the mold of what normal might be." Tell us about a time where you felt like a square peg in a round hole. All of the time. I march to the beat of my own drum. I have found my tribe at work though, we are all the same.
7) In 2018, when this song was popular, French President Emmanuel Macron lowered fuel taxes. When it's time to fill your tank, do you shop around for the best price? no, I live out in the country, so we just go to the closest station. If we are out and about we will shop around.
8) Also in 2018, Luxembourg made all public transportation free. When is the last time you rode a bus or train? I never do that. There aren't any in the town I live in as far as public transportation. I ride on a school bus everyday to help get our kiddos from to and from school. I rode a train last about 15 years ago.
9) Random question: When did you most recently say, either out loud or to yourself, "I haven't got a thing to wear?" It has been a while, but I do say that sometimes even though I have a full closet of clothes. I get tired of the same old clothes.
Martha Stewart (she is the American Marie Kondo) says we are supposed to make our beds. Every day.
ReplyDeleteI have the feeling Martha Stewart has someone to make the bed for her.
#5 -- Wise words from Dad!
ReplyDeleteOh yeah...on #6 and 9. Have a great weekend, friend. smiles
ReplyDeleteI so associaklte with the closet deal.. Mine is stuffed with old worn out clothes.. I still have my school work clothes and I've been retired for 16 years... I always need something new, but I am really bad about purging the old stuff!
ReplyDeleteI like your answer to #6. I definitely march to the beat of my own drum.
ReplyDeleteI feel better knowing I'm not the only one that puts making the bed at the end of the get ready list in the morning.
ReplyDeleteFun questions and answers Lori! Have a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteEveryone feels differently about a "made" bed for sure. Always fun reading everyone's answers. Good to catch up with you. I've been remiss in blog reading lately.
ReplyDeleteI love that you found your tribe. Its so important!!
