1. Describe the best job you ever had why was it good? (if it was awful, tell us about that instead) The best job I have had is teaching special education preschool students. I love it. These kids are so sweet. You do get behaviors sometimes, but you know why they are acting out. I really love working with kids with Autism. I think those kids can be harder to reach and when you do, it is the best thing ever!
2. How did you learn to do your job? Most of what I do I learned on the job or I learned in seminars. I am in a school now where there is a team and so we can all learn from each other, but when I first started...it wasn't like that at all. I had to figure a lot out on my own. I do have a bachelor's in early childhood education and I am certified by the state to teach birth-3rd grade as well as preschool-special education. College does not teach you how to work with students with autism.
3. You are now in charge of your town's public relations committee.. Tell us why we need to move to your town. The town I live in is very quiet and peaceful. It is wooded and hilly here. The area I live in is known for the lakes, Silver Dollar City and Branson. Here is a picture of Table Rock Lake where I grew up and I still teach in this community.
4. It's lunch time! Build your perfect sandwich for us.. what's in it and on it and what's in our cups? I like a warm sandwich, so my favorite sandwich is a club sandwich. Here is the description from google:
A club sandwich, also called a clubhouse sandwich, is a sandwich of bread, sliced cooked poultry, ham or fried bacon, lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise.
It is often cut into quarters or halves and held together by cocktail sticks.
I also like to drink sweet tea. I would love to have that for lunch right about now.
I use to love to eat Club sandwiches. Now I have to cut back on bread, especially if I want to eat some chips! I love sweet tea but I have to water it down because of the sugar. Enjoy your week!
ReplyDeleteYum...I'll be right over for lunch, grin. Your area looks so nice and inviting, smiles. Have a great day, friend!!!!
ReplyDeleteI knew you were a teacher, Lori -- but not working with special education kiddos. What a blessing you are! Early on, I'd a clerical job at Abilene State School's rehab facility. Never having had interaction with mentally challenged folks, I was a little intimidated -- but soon realized they were some of the most loving individuals I've ever known. Come to think of it, I still miss their hugs. :)
ReplyDeleteYour sandwich looks fabulous, but I admit, I'm too lazy.
ReplyDeleteAs a teacher, you made a lasting impact on so many lives! Good for you.
What a beautiful, peaceful looking place!!! Id love to visit there anyway! Nothing is as tasty as a good club sandwich.. That crispy bacon, and fresh ingredients can't be beat!
ReplyDeleteClub sandwiches are SO good! I could have chosen a Philly Cheese-steak too, but went with the club. Your photo of Table Rock Lake is beautiful! I admire your patience and caring for children with special needs. God bless you!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous hometown. America is so beautiful. I will join you for that sandwich too.
