Sunday Stealing

Sunday Stealing

1 - You’re in a tattoo parlor about to get inked. What are you getting done?  Tattoos are not for me
2 - If you could be any character, from any literary work, who would you choose to be?
I don't know
3 - You’re given $10,000…under one condition: you cannot keep the money for yourself. Who would you give it to?
My son, he suffers with depression and anxiety and is not able to work right now...we are working on it.  I would give it to him so he could have things.
4 - If you had to go back in time and change one thing, what would it be?
I would have been nicer to two people in school, I was never mean, but for some reason on two o
ccasions, I was mean to two people.  I would not do that.
5 - If you had to delete one year of your life completely, which would it be?
2015, I left my old teaching job and it was very painful for a while. I had been there 10 years.  I would not delete that year though, leaving has been a good thing.

6. You’re an Action Movie Hero. What’s your weapon of choice and the line you scream when defeating your arch enemy? lasers coming out of my hands to destroy things...don't mess with me.
7 - What is the first curse word that comes to mind?
shit
8 - Would you rather be stranded on a desert island with someone you love for ten years or someone you hate for a month? Explain why.
Love for 10 years.  I can't stand to be with people I dislike for more than a few hours.  If you are with someone you love, times goes by so fast.
9 - 5 things within touching distance:
glasses, phone, lotion, remote control for tv, kleenex.
10 - What are you supposed to be doing right now?
whatever I want, I am doing this and laundry.
11 - Currently wanting to see anyone?
My family members that have passed away, my dad and Granie and Papa Oslin.
12 - Would you go against your moral code for money?
depends what it was, probably not though.
13 - What’s more important to you: strength of the body or strength of the mind?
mind, but both are important.
14 - How important you think education is?
I thought it was very important for most of my life and I am a teacher, but my husband is a union laborer and makes way more money than I do and he did not go to college.  I guess it depends on what you want to do.
15 - If you were the president, what would you do?
that is one job, I do not want ever, but I would want to try to figure out some medical stuff, why so much autism?  Do something about it.  I work with kids with autism and I love them, but I hate to see them and their families suffer.  Also, better insutrance for mental health, we are running into this problem with our son, insurance does not want to pay for mental helath care.  That is not good.

  1. We thought of the same curse word. Must be the teacher in us. Today is my last day of summer vacation!

  2. Oh yes, if you are with someone you love, time does go by faster...
And LASERS in our hands.. we are invincible! Let's do this! Do you know of a clinic in Mexico or ???? lol Your answers were fun.
And, my daughter had a lot of anxiety and depression. I understand what it is to be watching your beloved child go through these things, and trying help in anyway that they will allow you to. Take care..

    1. It is so hard to watch him struggle with his emotions and it scares me to be honest. He starts counseling Friday, so I hope it will be helpful for him.

  3. I see we both love tattoos! LOL.
And I love the idea of the lasers.

  4. Your husband may be a union laborer but he had to learn how to do that - so he was educated to become what he is. Education encompasses everything, from how to use a spoon to knowing who Edison is. It's not just "book learning."

    1. Yes, I agree with that. I was thinking higher education.

  5. I agree with you about "formal" education. It's an absolute must for some professions, but is not a blanket need for everyone....and kids these days have so much debt when they get out of school.

My daughter struggles with depression and anxiety, ADD, and probably a couple of other things. It has been a long, sometimes hard, sometimes heartbreaking, sometimes downright painful road, but she's 26 now and married, a mom, a homeowner, and has a full-time job. She still struggles and sometimes drives me nuts, but I thank God every day because her life has turned out so much better than I dared to dream it would be at one point. Hang in there. Better days ARE coming!

  6. Mental health is such a critical issue right now. My DIL has worked as a case worker for more than 25 years now and still struggles with the same challenges/road blocks/lack of funding she experienced on Day #1.

Amen to your #1. I feel the same way, but I fear we're in the minority.

  8. I wish you had the $10,000 so it could give you and your son some comfort. My oldest friend battles bipolar disorder and her life is so much harder without the right mix of medications. She beats herself up all the time, sure the world is judging her. "It's a DISEASE! Like asthma or diabetes." I tell her, over and over, but I don't think I'm getting through.
