stiff back, new class and braces

It has been a while, but when I turned 30, I was doing laundry and I was putting the clothes in the dryer...when I bent over, my back tightened up. I was in so much pain. I could hardly move. Anyway, yesterday right before I went to my class I bent over to pick up Molly and my back tightened up again. It wasn't as bad as it has been in the past. I can walk. I went to class. It feels better if I move and keep it loose. I laid on the heating pad last night while I watched Glee. Do any of you watch that? I watched the first show when it premiered and loved it, then I watched it when it came back and thought it was stupid. Well, I was watching some shows I had taped on the DVD one night and when they were over I turned the tv on and it was when Glee made it's comeback. I have been hooked ever since. Anyway, back to my back. It is a little better today. Just a little stiff.
I wanted to read blogs last night, but Karl was watching a movie on the computer. So I wasn't able to get online at all.
My class is going to be fun I think. I get to work in a 2 year old room. The material we will learn will be very helpful. I love taking classes where I can actually use what I am learning. This is what happened last year. I decided to take the whole year and take all of the classes I didn't want to take. It was a boring year of classes and I will not use the information that I learned in my classroom, but it is over. I think everything I take now will be enjoyable for me. I have about a year and a half left of classes.
Today I take Josh to the Orthodontist. They are taking molds of his mouth. They say they will start with an expander and then he will need braces, so we are getting the process started. He has really messed up teeth, it is strange because Karl and I didn't wear braces.
Well, I will go. This has turned out to be a long post. Have a great day!!

  1. Hi Lori! I used to have braces and I remember gagging when I had to have the molds made, it's better to breathe through the nose I remembered. Those spacers at first felt like apple skins in between my teeth and drove me nuts. Oh welllllll.
I have to garden in the raised garden beds as the dirt here in most of my yard is a lot of clay and no drainage. Although I do have some good parts way out back.
I've had back problems in my lower back like that for years and I am having that problem right now too. It's a pain in the back LOL !
I used to go to the Chiropractor a few years ago which greatly helped. Now it's back. I guess if I didn't try to pick up refrigerators, it wouldn't be so hard on me (figurative speaking LOL) Yes I always do too much to put the strain on it.
I could never watch a movie on a computer! LOL

  2. if Josh's gums hurt too much for him, always remember Tea Tree Oil is excellent for the numbing the pain. It tastes awful, I wouldn't say as bad as smelling like turpentine, but close heeeeheee, you can tell him if he can take the smell and taste just for a moment of you rubbing it on his gums with a Q-tip, that his pain will subside quickly (along with the taste) It's really not that bad. You can get it at a Health Food Store, it is excellent !

  4. Hi Lori;

I'm glad your back is better today. I know how painful it can be. You know I've never seen Glee nor did I ever hear of it until a couple of our online friends mentioned it. Is it on an HBO type cable station? I don't have any HBO or extra pay channels as they are way too expensive here in my area. We are only allowed cable hookups here in the apartment complex. That's what I miss about having a Satellite hookup.

I hope all goes well with Josh and his new braces. Have a lovely evening my friend. Hugs

  5. Hi Lori,
Sorry about your back :( I have a friend at the age of 32 bent over to get a bathroom trash can and ended up in traction for 4 months. She never had back trouble in her life! She just twisted and bent the wrong way. Both my grandkids had braces actually Justin stil does he is 17 years old he will be getting them off soon. I never had them and my son never had them but everyone on my DIL side did. Happy you like your new class. Take care.
    Hugs, Dru

  6. Hi Lori! I feel for you with your hurt back. I hurt mine years ago, & was unable to do much for 9 full months - couldn't sit, couldn't lay for long periods...it was a very difficult time. So much pain! I had to have traction 3 times per week too. I hope yours feels better soon.

I'll get your siggie out to you. Hugs!

  7. Hi Lori, I hurt my back a long time ago and still get flare ups. Heat and Mortrin help. I enjoyed Glee this season and will watch it again. I use to be a preschool teacher and a Sunday School teacher. Now I am enjoying my grandbabies. Thanks for you prayers. Have a great week. Hugs
